About

My research interests lie at the intersection between industry competitive dynamics and the firm-level factors affecting a firm’s competitive standing. Within the general area of Competitive Strategy, I aim to understand the contingencies that make some strategic approaches to the acquisition of resources and positioning of the firm more effective, and the potential interdependencies among these strategies and the evolution of industry dynamics. My current research focuses on i) platform-based competition; and ii) firm's stakeholders management.

I obtained my PhD in Strategic Management from IE Business School (Instituto de Empresa) of Madrid, in June 2010. Before joining the department of management and technology at Bocconi university as assistant professor of strategy, in 2009, I spent a semester at Harvard University as research visiting fellow at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. I also served as professor of strategy at IE Business School, and as professor of management at S. Louis University.
